Interview: How Can You Protect an APP Idea? Marty Robins, IP Attorney, Fisher Broyles Law Offices on Got Invention Radio

 

Marty Robins has practiced law for almost 34 years following his graduation from Harvard Law School and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is presently a partner with the national business law firm of FisherBroyles LLP and an adjunct professor with DePaul University College of Law, teaching Intellectual Property for Corporate Transactional Lawyers and a Senior Mediator/Arbitrator with ADR Systems Inc. concentrating on IP matters. The firm’s practice encompasses all business law areas, with an emphasis on intellectual property and technology matters. The firm includes 8 registered patent attorneys and a number of specialists in other IP and IP-related areas such as licensing, privacy/information security trademarks, trade secrets, traditional copyright practice and Digital Millennium Copyright Act practice. It publishes an IP newsletter several times per year which is available upon request to Mr. Robins.

Mr. Robins’s individual practice is equally divided between IP matters and traditional corporate transactional work such as business acquisitions and financings. He has been published extensively on IP and other legal topics in journals ranging from the University of Illinois Journal of Law, Technology and Policy to the Tulane Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property to The ABA’s Business Law Today to the Journal of Equipment Lease Financing. He has also spoken on IP topics at many forums, such as, during the last year, at the MIT Enterprise Forum in Chicago and the Chicago Bar Association’s Corporate Practice Committee.
